How can music do this?

I have lived now for 41 years on this earth. And when I think of Mortification, my brain ignorantly and arrogantly groans and points to one album, and that is the Scrolls of the Megiloth. I very well might be the person to blame for all the barking and telling of it. But undeniably underneath the surface is a oystered rock and crevice that I had not noticed or seen.

Scrolls era Mortification while foundational and standard in death metal music, these later releases escaped me. I think a lot of it to do with, maybe maturity, ego or downright delusional. This music performed and presented here is nothing short of a masterpiece in the guitar virtuosity!
