These books, which include Tobit, Judith, Wisdom of Solomon, Sirach (Ecclesiasticus), Baruch, and 1 and 2 Maccabees, were accepted as Scripture by the early Church and were included in the Old Testament canon used by the apostles and the generations that followed.”
I have been having some disagreements today with catholics. Particularly on the topic of mary, the mother of Jesus.
Additionally I have been wondering about the extra books included in the bible. If they are indeed original books and are important and integral, then why do only catholics use them?
And why are the catholics are esteemed higher than anyone else who believes in the role, purpope and life of Christ?
From my perspective, and the role of the catholics all throughout history are control.
Humans have free will, God intended and made human’s like that on purpose.
The whole idea behind the garden of eden, was that man disobeyed God and required the necessity of Christ.
Am I missing something? what is the deal with these extra books from the bible.
And for the record, I pray to God and Him alone. If mary is in heaven and she hears my prayers, that is awesome. But I do not pray to her. And I do not call any man in the cloth father. My father is in heaven.
