Yes I was desperate for a room and to rent. And I jumped on the first opportunity. I filled out the application, was accepted. I paid the money. And he is refusing to give me a room. I was ripped off, scammed!
He would only accept payment through venmo and chime. And when I told him I couldn’t make this work, he told me I could buy him apple gift cards. It was seriously a lot of red flags, but my better judgment was clouded because I was desperate to get into a place.
Well now I am facing eviction and am now broke, until next month. The guy robbed me and isn’t cooperating with me.
Initially he told me rent $550 (included utilities) and refundable deposit $250 and an application fee of $80
First he wanted that, I paid it. Then he asked for an additional month of rent. I paid, and the following day he said he now needs 3 months rent advance to move me in.
He has jerked me around. All money was paid through venmo and chime so I am not getting a refund. I am completely out of luck!
