The battle wages in Ukraine and its a pitiful waste of the mother land and its people. Its been a immense blessing meeting Fedor and learning about his project Holy Blood.
I am no stranger to Ukraine and Ukrainian metal. I am apparently a small percentage of Ukrainian blood myself. It is a fact shrouded in some mystery, particularly in that one very letter being “W”. Its a known fact they do not have that letter in their alphabet. Its exactly why I use the last name “m—-v” instead of “m—-w”. Yes indeed! my great grandparents on my father’s side of the family, migrated to the states from Ukraine. And as a result today, holubtsiis still my favorite meal.
In regards to Holy Blood music, its been a maturing process for me. I was not initially much interested in it. But much like wine, it does take time to get right. And I am now slowly becoming more and more invited back to listen to it more.
This track however, did catch me off guard. As it instantly invited me in. With the lovely female vocals, and alluding to an all out assault in barbaric and anthem driven death and metal.
If this is a sign of what is to come I am excited!
