I much like everyone else on this rock want the best experience possible, so I try to find the right tools and things to keep my body in tip top shape. Do I want you to come pay me me to tell you what you can find for free on the internet? nope!
I didn’t start exercising or working out until my later teens. Nothing serious just some dumbbells a bar with a couple 5s and 10s. Something everyone would tell me when I was younger is that I am skinny. As a younger person that did make me think, yes I am skinny. But now into my old age, I find that I am now more of a skinny fat.
Earlier in the 00’s I entered a homeless shelter in Grand Rapids that goes by the name of Guiding Light. It was there that I started to really take my fitness seriously. Me and the men would go to the ymca daily, and the homeless shelter itself had a small gym room too. This is also where I ran my first 5k and had the torn distal bicep surgery.
Ironically enough I have been through a total of 3 homeless facility’s where Ive spent 6 months to a whole 12 months. This was all for substance abuse treatment.
Into my later 30’s and now 40’s I am still lifting and still exercising. But things have slowed down a lot! I no longer have the energy that I did when I was younger, and motivation does dwindle as the years go by, but I do my best to stay active and live a diverse lifestyle with combination of different activity’s and things to keep my life interesting.
I do have my days where I spend it in bed. Its only by the grace of God that I get up in the first place! my relationship with the Lord and my commitment to daily bible reading are integral and necessary not only for the benefit of others, but most of all that I get to know the Lord. And believe you and me, He does show himself in situations and through even personal activity’s.
If you are curious, yes! your sin will find you out. And if you can’t get a grip of things, in most severe cases others will get none the wiser and address you as well.
When I learned that the bible meant Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth, I think that is when that saying and phrase really stuck with me.
