My dad raised us under a strict hatred for sports. A lot of it for the cherade that it is. But fact of the matter is, athletics and gym, fitness and competitive sports are good and fun entertainment. And it used to be celebrated and a camaraderie, and maybe even a serious rivalry.
I know here in my native town we had a terrible collapse after an msu loss, I am sure it was due to our neighborhood partner UofM. But all of that aside, sports entertainment today. Is very much entertainment, and less sports.
I cannot for the life of me, understand how something like football of all things accepts this to happen. But I am ashamed, for all involved. Worst of all, us america, the united states. Is being mocked and laughed at, by the surrounding countries.
Yes while we are all in this melting pot hating one another, because we would rather roll around in the pig pen, then get dressed and ready for work. Its the parable in the bible, the age old adage of the plank in the eye, looking for the speck in others.
But in this case, its for good reason. Because this halftime show is nonsense, its heretical and disgraceful. I would like to think we could have fun like it was in the past. But those days are long and over. God bless, take care of yourselves and your family. We need to pray for them, and not hate them. Not reject or neglect them, and this is a hard reality for even myself. Its not easy, turning the other cheek, and quieting the tongue. But on the reverse, its also not a invitation to be silence in the sight of opposition.
This righteous anger, that I am learning about. That is where I think its best matched and made at.
