I understand its relatively new, but I think its fixed and not fair or even in the least bit reliable or setup right at all. You get piss poor one sided matches. Rarely if ever do you feel like you do anything more than just try and work yourself against the algorithm.
This is fixed, and I think the developers and Pearl Abyss have the intel on what is actually going on, but obviously will not reveal it. Its even worse than League of Legends. I have never participated in a competitive computer game, where the match making and the whole scenario and event feels like absolute trash.
Every fight is one sided. What is so odd to me, is that you frequently see the same people in all your matches. Repeatedly. You will notice somebody, like in my case Abbatcrombone and he will play just fine on the opposite team, when I get him on my team the guy just does absolute ass..
Believe me, I am not good at this. if you look at my damage numbers and my CC, its all very small and bad. I am terrible! but one thing about me, is that I am consistent. My play-style is not, any different than what you would expect any other time. With some of these people I get matched with. I sincerely and genuinely feel like they are throwing on purpose.
The last thing I want to be doing is wasting my time on a game, where the people aren’t even interested in winning. I don’t know, I could be wrong. And this is all just some grand delusion. But I have been grinding on this arena of solare for a few years now. And while it is fun, at times and moments. The worst part about it. Is the fact, that it doesn’t feel like any kind of scaling or progress.
It feels like a hamster wheel going in a circle on repeat.
This is much the reason why I hate playing league of legends. Its just running the tires in mud. The wheels are moving, I am having fun, but am not going anywhere. I am what they call, “hardstuck”.
And honestly when it comes to digital and computer games, it does feel like there is maybe maniacal dictator or evil upper echelon of person in charge, that completely dictates and compromises your experience.
I see it even with the “winners” and the “losers”. I do keep coming back, because I do love the competition. I like the ability of getting better and gaining traction in ranked. But with me saying this, it motivates and inspires. And than in return, becomes a huge setback not for you, but for me. Because I am not the best, hardly even average it feels like a lot of times.
I like to win, everyone does. But for me, winning doesn’t always necessarily happen in a trophy or a 1st place prize. It could be learning a certain skill or ability, that makes my life easier. There is always something in life, that can actually supersede your initial goal or objective.
Black Desert needs work on its competitive pvp, as does League of Legends. More specifically both need to necessitate the random and spontaneity of the matches, but while, creating a match making with like minded players. Allow the ai to gather the information of matches, and to appropriately place players randomly enough. This should not be so, easy to guess and have an expected experience. Its nonsense, seeing the same people in the matches. I don’t know, maybe just nobody plays or uses ranked arena of solare? seems ridiculous to me.
