what are core/base game mechanics?

what are core/base game mechanics?

Its become apparent to me that the Korean’s and their cash grabbing grubby mmorpg’s think they are reinventing the wheel or creating actual video games. One thing these people can learn from the Japanese is that making video games is an art and a chore, and a labor of love.

If you are looking for a quick buck or maybe even retirement you are in the wrong business.

I grew up playing games from all regions of the world. Most noticeably Japan. But as I got older I did begin to realize that a good deal of games were made in fact right here in the U.S. of A!

While every person today born after the 90s, refuse to accept and relate to America, they instead choose to abandon it and latch onto every other region of the world.

I played into same rhetoric and lies a lot of my upbringing too. In fact not until my late 20s and 30s did I begin to not take for granted being born in America.

What does this have anything to do with “core” and “base”, “game mechanics?”. Well a lot apparently, because so it seems that the rotten disgusting game devs of today think they are calling into focus proper and appropriate game development. No, indeed they are not.

Happy 37th Birthday to Megadrive/Genesis

Happy 37th Birthday to Megadrive/Genesis

Everyday of the year triggers and reminds us of historical events. Today is no different. Its our favorite 16 bit power horse, whose reputation is much disfavored in comparison to its super brother. I didn’t first get a genesis as a kid. My first console was a nes. But I did get to enjoy it every time I got to visit my two cousins, and play it at their house.

We would thrill ourselves with titles like the original xmen game, kid chameleon, Olympic basketball and countless others. Sega always had a way with winning me over with its consoles and games. I did like my nes, but I felt with Sega, they just like one of the guys, normal a cool to hang out with, take from that what you will, I don’t know I did have a crazy imagination.

Today while hard to capture the excitement of those days, it does still manage to pull me in with its titles. I think favor of this occasion I will fire up the Genesis (or alternatively called megadrive overseas) and enjoy the classics that made console so great.

just a cool looking box art, not sure about the game
