Where on earth did this come from!?

Ok now I may see why the men in Embodyment have been taking their time with future project and production of their new music. Because while I was aware of the Famine, I did not for once give them the attention or interested required to truly appreciate this music. This has to be some of the best metal produced and put out period.

While I was dribbling in my excrement, and tasting the aftermath of a hard night of drinking and drug abuse. My appetite was most satiated with the sounds and melodies and rhythms that that motivate degeneracy.

I don’t think people know or understand exactly what the dangers of music does to a persons own psychology and thinking. Words do have a purpose and a compass to right and wrong. And I was far too stubborn and belligerent to accept the fact. I was much more focused on the sound and the feeling, instead of the message and the delivery.

For me I loved Embodyment’s first demo’s and early material for its sound and brutality, but I was missing one crucial thing and that was the lyrics. I was able to stich together a very limited broad interpretation of the songs and overall mood and flow of the album, for the most part I could be completely wrong. One thing was for certain when “apocalypse of the suffering”, came on I stopped feeling emotions and vibrations and sound, and I started to actually listen with my conscious mind, and navigate and piece together the intent and details of the production.

Yes I do love hard and aggressive styles of music, and yes without question I do see the parallel between the sound and its gravitation into negativity and emotions. But this is where like anything else, discretion and responsibility is necessary.

I didn’t want to make this article into something about right and wrong, and ethics of lyrics and musicianship. But there really does need to be more discipline, and responsibility with people in their efforts to present and give a message.

The Famine and other gifted christian men and women are making entertainment and media that is perfectly crafted and done well and even better in a lot of cases than competitors. As the world transitions into new technological advancement, we will see the dichotomy between quality and quantity. And how ironic a band with the name Famine to make me think of this. This is indeed the Lord working and showing himself through the world and the art and the media and the literature.
