I didn’t start get into translating video games, until recently. In fact it didn’t even start catching drift with me until the last 2 years. I started to notice and see a lot of Saturn games recently getting translated, and then I began to see the ovherwhelming progress in other games, and even into other languages other than english. At the rate things are going, it looks lilke a majority of classic games will eventually all get the english treatment.
I am beginning to just now get familiar with a lot of the software and terms and concepts. And once I can successfully modify something and replace the letters into english, I can start actually doing some work. But this is a process, and it does require a lot of different software and methods to make it work successfully.
And believe me, trying to get a direct answer from anyone, is like trying to ask for secret government information. Everyone is very vague, and they always assume you are a dumbass and suggest you get back to learning how to be a rocket scientist, then just pointing you in the path of the necessary information.
I have no prior knowledge in programming, very little HTML, PHP and some Apache and MySQL. I always fascinated with coding and programming from web design and to actual working functional software, but was always too intimadted by the idea of math of memorization. The older Ive gotten, Ive been able to remember and focus better. I do still struggle with math, but things are getting better.

I am not going to go into too much detail about specifics, I feel like there are a lot better resources out there, than what I can give any advice. For good starting points in starting, I suggest…
