Tales from the Crypt

Ooooo spooky! its October, Halloween bah humbug! give me a thanksgiving feast with family or Christmas dinner. Yeah, I know for some odd reason everyone loves this time of year, for its macabre and disturbing aroma of horror movies. Its the kind of poison that corrodes and infiltrates the minds of good people.

And seriously after watching some of these tales from the crypts episodes I can see how the devil deceives and misleads and ultimately greed’s the life right out of entertainment. This was a guilty pleasure as a kid, it was some of very disturbing stories and events. Honestly, I think the first one is what steals the show. But they all do manage to show some charm in these small horror episodes. And I couldn’t believe I saw Demi Moore with a big bloated whale.

So the language is harsh to the tone, there is very little in the way of blood, guts and nudity. But you better believe you will indeed see it! and sometimes, it might be even more visceral than you were expecting. I don’t know who was working in media and entertainment, but those people then needed a good pat on the back. Because this kind of entertainment, one ups absolutely everything that is put in front of our faces today.

Its got good dialogue, and acting and the theatrics and the material are all very well done and professional. Honestly, its the storylines and the inventive things that they come up with that is so entertaining. But then again, they are usurping some pretty sick and twisted thoughts and nasty things. Well if you don’t have young ears and eyes around, you can catch a few of these episodes.

And believe it or not they actually do try to present some moral principles and “good” things in this, its not as obvious as day, but its in there, and its kind of neat how they include it. I’ll tell you what, my brain, and my mind everything thinks and looks at things completely different now. I am certain, its the holy spirit guiding and directing me. I am very grateful that I have gotten my mind back on track with God. I never want to live in the swamps and hide in sin. Now I know there is no hiding, and while I am a sinner. I do know perfectly fine and well that Jesus Christ is Lord. And He transcended the mortal coil, went beyond the threshold of life and death.

My eyes and ears, mind are changing. I really ought to be filling it with better entertainment than this. But I thought I would share this for Halloween. There is no telling what kind of antics, 2026 will bring. But for this year, I will leave this here as my kind of Halloween oriented posting.
