Christ’s Sword – Terra Mariana

Whether Christian influenced metal is heading into a good direction is still not known, I do see some variations of progress. But in terms of quality it does seem to be more lackluster then its secular counterparts.

Its nobody fault either, music, especially death and black metal. Are genres that have seen a lot of attention and working in them. To be innovative and create something really great, is not an easy task. I think in terms of production, and musical performance, and then the lyrics and packaging.

This here is something that does stand out to me in terms of presentation and content. The song titles do come off as a bit lazy and not really anything creative. But you know what? it does send and convey the message of Christ plainly and perfectly, and it doesn’t mock or ridicule it, it shows it in a positive light, and for that, I am impressed.

I may have been a little too hasty at the beginning of this post, because honestly some of my favorite albums are in fact Christian releases. That being said, I also know a good number of secular albums that I do genuinely love and enjoy listening to. But for whatever reason, these lyrics now, just do not bode well with me. I feel an infuriating and intolerable affection towards overt anti-Christian and blasphemy being spoken in music now.

I didn’t get to listen to this whole release yet, but am eager to get through it. I just wanted to share this band with you all. For anyone looking for some black/death metal, with a Christian lyrical content.
