Growing up in America, with its representation of rap music. I have came across just about every pedigree imaginable. And its not something I take lightly, I do enjoy my gangster rap and my obnoxious thug music.
It wasn’t like I exactly had a choice, it was played throughout all of my city, and its a kind of music that is celebrated and loved by the world as a whole.
Where I exactly stand with rap? well I think somewhere in the scene of where Jim Carrey came out dressed as Vanilla Ice. Its nothing more than a gag or a gimmick, I do not, take it seriously. No more or less than metal, or any other kind of music, period. Its all a glossary, of how to make money. Rap music is very obnoxious and vociferous it doesn’t hold back its vicious.
The music of Cage is rap, that is made by a white guy from New York, or at least that is what I would imagine his geography being. The music isn’t bad from my interpretation. It almost sounds like the old group Onyx, if you ask me.
The lyrics and delivery of his message is what make this album so good to me because he discusses a lot of topics and themes from old classic films that I used to watch and enjoy when I was younger.
I like this album, its an homage to the older style movies and the themes and presentation everything make it very impactful. Unfortunately its not Christian, not in the least. But it does depict some truths of life, and it does it in a almost comical and satirical way.
The track I choose to pick for this review is very relevant to me, because it honestly, feels like my life story. This is eerily and ironically very much a lot like me. When you go out and do some anti-life behaviors, its not a good look. Its a bad for yourself, worst of all! and then its the people that are affected and impacted by it. Its really a disturbing conclusion.
I don’t think I’ve ever genuinely wanted to die, but I think with my upbringing I choose the weak and pathetic, cowardly path. Because believe it or not, in this life your motivation and desire to live does need to be made apparent. A lot of days, you may be subjected to a intrusion from a psycho lunatic with firearms and a battering ram. Going to work, could be a death sentence, this day and age. With the overwhelming flow of information and the internet, ideas and beliefs
CHRIST IS LIFE! and HIS death is the reality and miracle that can transform your mind and people.
