Ive never been much of a sports fan. Growing up as a kid, it was all we talked about as a family, and it was all the media we consumed on holiday.
One of the best things about thanksgiving growing up, was my dad insisting we watch clint eastwood on the tv, instead of watching the lions get destroyed.
But just as life, things do change. As a result, so does my interest in football and sports. No I am hardly the person, to first bring it up as a topic of discussion, but I do from time to time catch myself, motivated and interested in hearing about the results of a win or a loss.
One takeaway from sports that I didn’t mention was the live game. I did enjoy going and being with family and friends. I do remember some summers in the decades of past where we would go see the tigers play as a family. I remember hard hitters such as Cecil fielder, a name of which is not mentioned much in baseball today, and for whatever his name is the first one to come up in my mind when I think about tigers baseball.
Throughout the past years, I have seen the tigers, msu football/basketball and lions, all do some incredible things in the sports. Add into the mix, basketball/hockey, I can’t even begin to think of the pistons or redwings.
Whether win or lose, I do love michigan sports and its benefit and contribution to the state and the community. One thing I do notice and understand from college and msu, is that the university does and is interested in things that I do not care about or am interested in seeing, being discussed and permeated and instilled in the minds of its students and staff. Christ deserves the victory, in everything.
