Slayer – “Divine Intervention” 1994/thrash Review

While I think most if not all Slayer albums are rather enjoyable in their own right, I do find most if not all the material is rather boring after hearing it more than most pop music. But there is one album that doesn’t get old to me, and that is “divine intervention”, this early 90’s slab of thrash fused with some rock/alternative elements. The lyrics are much of what you would expect but this time, maybe even more aggressive and tackling more social issues.

Yes before you ask, it does include the annoying kerry king solos, but they are easy to ignore when considering hanneman is on deck to break up his annoying and sloppy guitar playing. I think much like trey from morbid angel, I think he is rather overrated and there are far better guitar players.

This album was actually my introduction to the band, I was given a copy in freshman year of high school. This alongside Vader was my introduction to the harder forms of metal. It made me a instant fan, and propelled my love for death metal.

Unfortunately as a mentioned before you are not going to find pro-christian lyrics here, this is all very vulgar and negative, and does not encourage but more discourages life and the advancement of human beings. It details much of history and anti-christian epitaph.
