Ever heard of Mike Mentzer before? neither had I, until I watched a brief biography of the guy, and his rise and fall, and sadly at the age of middle 40s. What was most prophetic about it is that it sounded strangely a lot like myself.
My life and my psychology took a very twisted turn, but what is baffling is the details and items that he used were not at all related to myself, except for maybe working out. I never got big into cocaine, and thank God! because that stuff seems to rob a person of all morals and decency. When you see a hollow shell of a person, look no further than those who are exhausted in excessive drug and alcohol use.
He would have visions and theories about otherworldly things, and feelings of the end of world scenarios. This was all in my head at my worst in my using. When wrap around yourself in weightlifting and drugs, you are doing something very counter productive, because while you are helping your muscles grow by working them, you are putting in yourself the demonic feedback from drugs/alcohol. This kind of psychology from those inebriants will take your morality and it will crush it! if you say you love your family, then suddenly you will begin to hate them, maybe even resent them. If you love working at your job, and enjoy that 30 minutes to yourself at lunch, it will figure out how to get you to work sluggishly, and then avalanche everything onto you in that special 30 minute time slot. The ways of the devil is starting to become more and more obnoxious, and it its very unfortunate that I didn’t take this much more seriously in my younger age.
Do not allow hate, the flesh, and the devil to derail your life. They will act like cohorts or comrades, at first, but eventually you will find out, that, that kind of company is trying to drag you, and everything you love into hell.
