Chakan the Forever Man was an intriguing and mystifying title back on the Sega Genesis/Megadrive back in the early 90’s. He came off to me as some kind of zombie-like figure in a western and cowboy like appearance. I don’t know much about the other than the fact that it’s confusing as all hell, and very difficult. That being said, in today’s internet world information and resources are just a button away, but I myself am less interested in speeding through a masterpiece but more into actually enjoying the game as it was intended.
I am not however limiting myself from spoilers, but for the most part I will tackle the game without any aid or assistance, it’s a touchy subject and almost impossible to entertain without revealing or spoiling something!
Chakan is a series that has always been in my memory and in my face one way or another, and for the most part I guess it’s my fascination with the character and series itself. And the very fact that a very ambitious effort like it was intended and tackled on the Sega consoles made it even more badass to me.
Right a talented man who has undergone work on such games as Ecco the Dolphin, TinyTank, Slice HD, Mr. Bones,3 Dirty Dwarves, Super Smashball, Mile High Pinball, Space War Arena, Kolibri, among others I am sure!
I myself was always fascinated and intrigued with not only Chakan but also Ecco and Mr bones, and now most recently 3 dirty dwarves. The creativity and minds of some of these game developers and creators is really underappreciated in my opinion. We need more ambitious game designers and programmers who are actually in the interest of gaming and not pushing their sexuality or beliefs into the games.
